Hi Jose, I
was just reading your entries and could not find one from me. I feel
terrible that I did not send one. It has been about a year since you were
helping me plan my trip to Poland. Your help with finding my family and all
of the pre-trip advice was amazing. I would never have been able to have the
experience I had without your help. Thank you for posting the pictures that
I sent to you.
http://www.radzilow.com/juzba.htm
Hopefully I will have more to send to you later this year!
The new version of the site looks great! Thank you for everything again!
Take care!!! |

Jose. We have been away and just returned home
yesterday. I just put on my computer and was absolutely overwhelmed, not
only by the scope of what you have done, but also by seeing myself on the
screen. However, what really blew me away, was the photos Bruce Zatz sent
you. Bruce is related and the photo consists of his grand mother Shoshie,
his great grandmother Maryim, and Moshe Peltin, who is his great, great
grandfather. (The father of Bruce's great grandfather Eli, Maryim's
husband). I have been in Bruce's house and have seen the Archives he has
collected (Birth, marriage, death certificates of practically every member
of the extended family on all sides-incredible), but I had never seen the
photo he sent you. (His great grandmother was the sister of my grandmother).
To say that I was overwhelmed by what you have done would be an
understatement, including the patriotic music. My grandparents loved
America. They came from Jedwabne, so you will understand. I view the whole
genealogy project as if they are not really gone but will always be
remembered. I have prepared loose leaf books with photos, family trees etc.
that I give to each of my grandchildren on their Bar/Bat mitzvah. They love
it and so the remembrances continue into the next generations.
As an aside, we recently returned from a visit to Israel. where my wife
Rebecca discovered relatives there she did not know she had. Very exciting.
Anyhow, you have performed a MAJOR MITZVAH and I cannot thank you enough.
Regards. Joe |

Thank you, Jose, for creating this magnificent web page about Radzilow.
Thanks to this site and thanks to you, my mother, Chana Finkelstein/Ann
Walters, has been able to tell her history as one of the last two survivors
of the 1941 massacre.
Anna
Bikont came to Kansas from Poland to meet and interview Chana for her
upcomming book this last April and Dr. Deborah Klee of the Kansas City
Jewish Chronicle wrote a front page article about my mother and her soul
wrenching memories this week. Hopefully, the article, or at least a link to
it, will be available on this site soon.
Thank you for all your effort creating this beautifully crafted site and for
connecting us to my grandmother and uncle's testimony in English, Anna
Bikont and my family's town. |

Because of your
efforts - coupled with Uncle Meyer - I now know that (1) Radzilower Shul is
not in Brooklyn, but in the Lower East Side, (2) the original family name
was spelled Sztabinski, (3) I have that precious picture of Uncle Meyer with
my great-grandmother and great-aunt, neither of whom did I know of before,
(4) my grandparents are buried in Mokom Sholom cemetery in Bayside, and (5)
It was also recalled and confirmed that some of the family changed their
surname not to Silverstein but to Stebins. Todah Rabah! |

What
a great website! So much research, obviously done with so much love. You
must be the ultimate authority on Radzilow.
I
went looking for pictures of my father's family and was surprised to see one
of my uncle Morris Niedvetski's aunt and uncle and the whole family (he was
married to my mother's sister) on the day the elder couple were moving from
Cuba to Israel.
I
can still remember being at their house, where my brother and my cousin had
their bris. Brought back long forgotten beautiful memories.
Thanks for getting in touch with me. |

I
am overwhelmed by the great work you have done in this site. I was
searching for some details of my family history and found much more than I
expected.
My
family (Grandfather Nitzvetzki and Grandmother Tchervinski) born and
lived in Radzilow until the early twenties when my grandfather fled to
Cuba and managed to bring over his family of 9 children and wife. From the
story I read here I understand that they were the lucky ones....
Later
on, most of my family arrived from Cuba to Israel.

Dear
Jose,
The
virtual shtetl of Radzilow you created is without doubt the best version
ever of the town. I am a journalist, I work in Gazeta Wyborcza in Warsaw
and now I am writing a book about Radzilow. I can't imagine how I could
complete it without your contribution. Thank you for all.

Dear
Jose,
A year ago before you contacted me I knew
almost nothing about Radzilow. You contacted me and asked me if I
knew that my family name had deep roots in north east Poland and that the
first victim in the pogrom in Radzilow whose her head was cut off (my
father's sister) was a 17-year-old girl named Dorogoy. At that time I
didn't even know where exactly Radzilow is located.
Talking with you and surfing in your wonderful
web site increased my knowledge about my family and this place.
A deep dark cloud is still covering the events
that took place 60 years ago and an historical justice needs to be done
before any real reconciliation can take place. One "miserable"
memorial stone can not represent 500 years of Jewish history - not for anyone of my family that got murdered !
I don't know Jose if you will find that our
families in Radzilow were somehow related, but for me you are a brother.
Thank
you for your wonderful work.
Avraham
Dorogoy

Dear
Jose, This is a truly magnificent work you have
accomplished. Kol haKavod. It is extremely well organized
and the links provide access to more sites than any other
website I have visited before. I am truly impressed. You
have honored the names of our ancestors in a truly significant way. Once
more Kol haKavod to you on this very
professional work. Baruch Segelin

Dear
Jose,
You have created a masterpiece. I commend you on your dedication and hours
of work. The honour you have given to your forefathers and roots in Poland
is truly amazing. You have brought alive a shtetl to many people who have
roots in there. It has been a wonder for so many people. Thank you for all
your hard work interest in your family.
Kol Ha-kavod.
